Monday evening, here in Maricopa, an unidentified goat (yeah, goat), held up traffic on John Wayne Parkway, at the over-pass. Several people attempted to assist in the capture of the offending goat.
A young lady on a bike tried to corral the traffic jammer, to no avail. A gentleman with a lasso evening put in a few throws to help nab the walking goat/curry special yesterday on the over-pass at WEST Honeycutt and John Wayne Parkway.
No big deal. Common occurrence in a rural town like Maricopa, right?
Well, what about Billy? Billy is the Tonopah, Arizona goat who assaulted a police officer last month.
That’s right, Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Tonopah where a goat was reportedly terrorizing people who lived there.
The goat named Billy was being a little rowdy, according to the sheriff’s office, damaging a garage door and an electrical cord. He even chased someone around a car.
Deputies were able to get Billy under control, that is, until he pissed on one of them, HA! The next day, the goat was turned over to Maricopa County livestock control. Anyone like curry goat?
Billy is facing charges today. Charges that include trespassing, assault, criminal damage and disorderly conduct. Or at least he would be … if he weren’t a goat. We’re also told Billy is having trouble retaining an attorney. He’s just always butting heads.
So, be on the look out. Offenders are about 2 1/2 feet tall, not very noisy and smell pretty baaaaaaaaaad. Sorry had.
