4 Arrested In Connection To Coolidge Drive-By
Investigations have revealed that all four suspects were in the car and entered a neighborhood near state Route 287 and Coolidge Avenue just after midnight on Thursday. Although the identity of the shooter has not been confirmed, Miyka Crawford was shot in the head and rushed to Florence Anthem Hospital, where she later passed away. Police stated that more than a dozen bullets went into the home. The stolen car used in the drive-by shooting was later found abandoned in Gilbert.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Coolidge Police Commander Mark Tercero stated, “This violence was brought here. None of these individuals live in the city of Coolidge. With our partnerships with our surrounding law enforcement agencies, it really truly helped us to reach these individuals and bring them to justice for Miyka and her family.”
Miyka Crawford was a sweet and outgoing child who loved TikTok, making videos and spending time with her sister. Her family describes her as a “baby” who will be greatly missed. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with expenses related to her passing. A celebration of life service for Miyka will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at 330 E. Burke Ave, Coolidge, Arizona. Guests are asked to wear purple or blue to the service.
Drive-by shootings are a serious problem in the United States, and have resulted in the loss of countless innocent lives. It is important for communities to come together and work with law enforcement to prevent such senseless acts of violence. The tragic death of Miyka Crawford serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of gun violence. The family and friends of Miyka Crawford are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
