Wrong Way Driver Arrested
Bunch Of New Laws Go Into Affect In Arizona
Asleep At The Wheel – What’s up with all the naps behind the wheel Maricopa? WOW. Last week folks were napping at the gas pump. Now people are just taking naps just about anywhere.
So, a woman was caught napping at the wheel of her car yesterday (Sunday). Just snoozing away! WITH HER KIDS IN THE CAR! Come on junior! Wake Momma up sometimes. So someone called Maricopa police and reported her.
She was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated DUI (Guess she was aggravated?), child endangerment and weapons violations. I suppose if your going to nap on the side of the road, it’s best to have a gun handy just in case the kids act out, right?
Maricopa’s finest were called out to to West Cielo Lane around 5pm. Someone had reported of a woman asleep behind the wheel of her car with her kids still in the back seat. When the officer arrived he noticed Gabriella Ramirez, Maricopa mother of the year, outside her Chevrolet Malibu, which was still running by the way. I guess she woke up from her nap. The officer stated that Ramirez was slurring her words, had watery, bloodshot eyes and smelled like she did laps in a pool of Jack Daniels. Kidding, he just said he smelled alcohol (my way is funnier though).
Gabriella admitted she was “three sheets to the wind” and had consumed just 1 drink – one after another after another – 5 times totaling five drinks. Then she thought it would be a GRAND idea to go cruisin’ in the car with her children inside. Cause she just HATES driving drunk alone. The children still were inside the car when the officer arrived. It appeared they had NOT been drinking.
Ramirez stood still long enough to perform a field sobriety test. Officers said they had noted six cues of intoxication (hm, just SIX?), and she was placed under arrest. The charges include: aggravated DUI (as she was in control of her car while intoxicated with her children in the car); misconduct involving weapons for having a deadly weapon (OH YEAH! Homegirl had a Glock!) shoved in her pants while committing a felony offense (aggravated DUI); child endangerment; and open container violations, for having multiple open liquor containers in the vehicle’s passenger cabin.
As Rick Flair would said:
Ramirez was booked into Pinal County Jail. We are unsure if she bailed out or was released. Whether the children were sent home with family or not is also unknown.
