CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande Police Department states a man & woman arrested in Casa Grande drive-by shooting, just one of four shootings that took place in the city last week.
Esiquiel Mata, 47, and Amber Beets, 34, are accused of shooting and seriously injuring a 32-year-old man on Tuesday, July 19, in the 500 block of East Manor Drive while the victim was riding a mini-bike.
Since the shooting, CGPD was able to identify Mata and Beets as the primary suspects, with Mata believed to be the shooter and Beets the getaway driver. Mata was arrested by Casa Grande detectives, while Beets was located at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino near Maricopa with the assistance of the Ak-Chin Tribal Police Department.

Both were arrested without incident and charges of drive-by shooting and aggravated assault have been forwarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for review.
The police thanked those in the public who helped in the investigation, along with the city of Casa Grande, PCAO and Ak-Chin PD.
These were the second and third arrests made related to the string of shootings that took place in Casa Grande last week. On Saturday, Perris Jajuan Robinson, 27, was identified from a photo at the scene and later was taken into custody, the department reported in a social media post on Saturday for a shooting that took place near Trekell Road and McMurray Boulevard on Friday.
